Personal Information defined in the Privacy Act is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. By answering questions on the wills form, you acknowledge that you are providing personal information to us for the purpose of writing your Will. Examples of Personal Information we collect include: names, addresses, email addresses, phone, family and asset details.
We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our Wills & Estate Planning services to you. We will not use your Personal Information for any other purpose unless you expressly inform us, or in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
Legal confidentiality
By completing this form, you are entering into a solicitor/client relationship with Chedid Storey Legal. Conversations, correspondence and documentation between us are confidential. Your personal information can only be revealed in limited situations. We are bound, as all solicitors are, to follow strict rules in the maintenance of your information and files.
Sensitive Information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
In the unlikely event we collect sensitive information, it will only be used by us:

- • for a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

How we protect your Personal and Sensitive Information
Your information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
This website service is hosted in Australia in a secure server. The website has been issued with a SSL Certificate to protect your sensitive information. When you enter data into the wills form the data you send to us is encrypted and then decrypted when we receive it.
Our SSL Certificate uses SHA-1 and SHA-2 encryption to protect sensitive data. It is the strongest encryption on the market at the time of preparing this form.
To help protect the privacy of data and personal information we collect and hold, we maintain physical, technical and administrative safeguards. We update and test our security technology on an ongoing basis.
Access to your Personal Information is restricted to employees who need it to provide services to you.
Access to your Personal Information
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.
Chedid Storey Legal will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
In order to protect your Personal Information, we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
